From coastal paths to kayaking, diving to wakeboarding, South Devon is a beach-lover’s paradise. If water-sports are not your thing, maybe you would prefer to simply pack a picnic lunch and take the kids to one of the glorious beaches for some paddling, sandcastle building and rockpool exploring. Two terrific beaches to visit are Bantham Beach, which is a long sandy beach that is great for swimming and Dawlish Warren which features a large beach and an amusement arcade. You can also enjoy a portion of the 95-mile stretch of the Jurassic Coast, which has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and forms part of the 630-mile South West Coast Path.
  • Dartmoor National Park: Covering 368 square miles, Dartmoor is a vast expanse of moorland that packs in forests, rivers, rock formations, wetlands and historical treasures. Explore by car, on foot, by bike, or even canoe. The area of Dartmoor is also home to some lovely villages so you can plan a route and enjoy a diverse itinerary that takes in your own highlights of this wonderful treasure.
