FAMILY ATTRACTIONS

The museums in South Devon are increasingly designed to interest all ages and to be more interactive so they can be engaging for every member of the family, especially if the weather isn’t all you could hope for! The Royal Albert Memorial Museum in Exeter has won awards, offers free entry and is suitable for adults and children.

South Devon is home to a variety of animal experiences. There is often the opportunity for children to pet or interact with certain animals, especially at petting farms and wildlife centres. South Devon attractions of this type can occupy an entire day if you wish but there are many that you can you can fit around other activities. The county is also home to zoos and aquariums, including a coastal zoo with penguins playing a starring role!

Whenever you are planning your holiday, take a look at any local events or festivals that may coincide with your dates. South Devon has a wide array of fabulous festivals of all sorts, from food to music and art. There is even a pirate festival! Music festivals include Dartmouth in May, Teignmouth folk festival in June and Sidmouth folk festival in August.
