With abbeys, castles and a cathedral, Devon has a rich cultural history and there are many historic sites to explore. From the ancient Exeter Cathedral to the fifteenth century Berry Pomeroy Castle, you can immerse yourselves in the past. Devon has a long seafaring tradition and there are museums throughout the county where you can explore this and learn more about some of Devon’s most famous figures such as Sir Walter Raleigh and Sir Francis Drake. The history of occupations such as farming and mining are also well represented in the county’s museums.
